TLDR;

There are countless ALPR cameras publicly facing on the internet, with open telnet ports,….. and default passwords.

What’s the worry of just having pictures of license plates? A malicious entity could quite easily engineer a sophisticated crime (perhaps a robbery). All they would have to do is identify the license plate of vehicle a target drives, then access the data tracking common driving patterns to identify when and where they will be. All because basic security parameters were left unchecked. Remember, a systems security is only as strong as its weakest link!
